Hickory County 2023 Tax Statements
Your Personal Property and Real Estate tax bills will mailed the first week of November. If you do not receive a bill by November 15th and you owned Personal Property (Vehicles, Boats etc..) in Hickory on January 1st, 2023, or you own Real Estate please contact our office at 417-745-6713 to be sure we have your correct mailing address. Failure to receive a tax bill does not relieve you of your obligation to pay taxes when due.
Your 2024 Assessment List will be mailed separately and will not be included with your tax statements.
If you believe there is an error on your Personal Property Assessment, (vehicle year, make or model or a vehicle that has been left off) please contact the Assessor’s office at 417-745-6346 to have it corrected before you pay.
If you sold your Real Estate during the current year and received the tax bill, please contact your title company, and check to see who is responsible for paying the full bill. The county does not prorate taxes; Proration is an agreement between the buyer and the seller only and is usually handled at the title closing.
To avoid paying late fees be sure that your payment is postmarked no later than December 31st, 2023. Payments postmarked after December 31st will be returned for penalty and interest charges. Check with your local Postal Service to see when your mail will be postmarked since this year the 31st is a Sunday you will need to have in the mail by Friday the 29th to be sure it gets postmarked on time. All your payment options are printed on the back of your statement. We also have a drop box located on the south side of the Court House by the door that you can use 24/7.
Our office hours are 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. M-F. Closed for lunch from 12 – 12:30. The last day to pay in person will be Friday the 29th.
